We have a lot of customers over the years who have asked us for black colored variations of our products. It’s clear they have a darker home aesthetic and want a Fluora product that matches their design style.

We held off on making a black colored Fluora pot - simply because we didn’t think it would change the actual experience of the product that much.

Monos was designed to have detachable shades, and we finally saw an opportunity to have a darker variation that did change the fundamental feel and look of the product - so we took it.

Midnight is the newest addition to the Monos Spring 2026 Collection, and uses the most unique material we’ve built with yet.

With the other dark variation, Obsidian, we leaned into transparency. You can see straight into the shade and watch the LEDs glow through open air before they even hit the acrylic.

Midnight does the opposite.

It’s fully opaque - which for a black material typically means it absorbs all light that hits it. That’s why you rarely see black lamp shades or headlights. White materials, on the other hand, scatter the light, which allows it to pass through the material and exit out the other side.

The Black Acrylic we used for Midnight is specially engineered to illuminate and reveal LED light illuminated from behind it. This allows us to get the best of both worlds - a stealthy, minimal look when off, and a vibrant colorful illumination when on.
