Behind the Furry Fluora Covers

Behind the Furry Fluora Covers

We get a lot of inbound asks for collaborations — and every now and then, a request comes along that is unexpected and truly exciting.

A few weeks ago, an incredibly talented "fiber artist" named Eliza (aka @wooliza) reached out. She creates these massive, sensory-rich wool art installations and wanted to explore a collaboration with one of our lights.

Take a look at how this unfolded:

The DM that started it all.

Eliza proposed a "mossy sleeve" concept, sending over these wild, beautiful mockups of custom wool sleeves designed to slip right over a Monos shade.
The goal? Hide the straight, digital lines and make the device look like it was completely taken over by nature.

First rough concept of the organic moss overlay.

Then she sent over a whole batch of sketches, ranging from "lava lamp" vibes to textured coral structures.

The second batch of sketches

After seeing these, we packaged up two demo Monos units and shipped them out to her studio in Oregon.

A few days ago, she checked in to let us know the units arrived safely:

It's happening!

A few weeks later, she had finished her first cover. Check out the video here!

She's already working on another design for the second Monos — but we wanted to know — are these moss covers exciting to you? Which remaining mockup design are you most excited to see come to life? Pick by color! From left to right/top to bottom they are: blue, green, red, or brown?

Let me know — maybe we'll be able to offer some of her designs to purchase soon!
